Front-End Benchmark

Brief 01 / baseline comparison

One hobby-rental brief. Five different starting points.

Borrowed Weekend asks a model to make a credible local hobby-kit rental service. These five baseline pages started from the same brief, yet chose different entry points, visual languages, locations and proof points. Sol, Luna, and Astra were rebuilt at medium reasoning on 2026-09-28; the other entries retain their earlier protocols. These previews are not quality scores.

Shared input

The original brief

Create a website for Borrowed Weekend, a local service where people can rent complete hobby kits from nearby enthusiasts before committing to an expensive new pastime.

Customers should be able to explore hobbies such as analog photography, camping, pottery, stargazing, paddleboarding, and bread making. Each kit is supplied by a verified local owner and includes everything a beginner needs, along with a short starter guide. The business earns a commission on each rental and offers optional damage protection.

The website should explain how the service works, help visitors discover hobbies that suit their interests and available time, show detailed information about individual kits and their owners, and support choosing rental dates. Trust, safety, kit condition, deposits, collection arrangements, and cancellations are important parts of the service. Include realistic content and enough depth for the business to feel operational rather than hypothetical.

Visible differences

What changes on the first screen?

The current previews show the replacement builds. Open each page to compare discovery, kit details, rental dates, and trust information. The earlier editorial observations were removed because they described the superseded Codex pages.

Each model invents its own local content and inventory from the same brief. Compare practical journeys as well as appearance; screenshots alone do not establish that a booking flow works.

How to read this

What this comparison cannot prove

This is an editorial reading of five baseline openings, not a scored evaluation. The sites use fictional businesses and self-chosen content. The replacement Sol, Luna, and Astra runs all use medium reasoning and separate agents per condition. Other models retain earlier protocols; there is only one sample per condition. Use the linked pages to inspect functionality, accessibility and mobile behavior before making broader judgments.
